Hatfields Beach Community Resilience Group (CRG)

What we need your help with

We need volunteers to help us:

• identify and minimise hazards to prepare our communities for emergency events
• raise awareness of what to do in an emergency
• connect people in need with those who can help them.

Our volunteers can also get training in:

• managing communications
• database management
• data protection.

During an emergency

There are no community hubs in Hatfields Beach so we do most of our work from private residences.

We are writing a communications plan and have an amateur radio operator who can work with Amateur Radio Emergency Communications (AREC) during an emergency.

We run our CRG alongside Hibiscus Coast Neighbourhood Support. During an emergency event we will work with them to identify members of the community who:

• are vulnerable
• have special skills
• can provide shelter if needed
• have generators, solar power and other sources of power like electric vehicles.

Hibiscus Coast Neighbourhood Support also has 'street leaders' that check on residents in their street.
